When you’re in the part of the PNW that we live in, rain’s going to come. In fact, it’s going to be a season. When you live this close to a temperate rain forest it’s just part of life.
That means a few things. It means digging is a full contact sport. If you have to dig anything it means you’re going to try to aim for a day after wet because you’re also likely digging through full red clay or clay loam if you’re lucky.
It also means the seasons are starting to change or it could mean false fall has hit. Right now it’s false fall. We’re not in true PNW fall just yet. There are still blackberries on bushes for Christ’s sake but it does mean that mushrooms have started to flush early and that our little creek is starting to fill up again. All these are good things.
So in honor of the false rainy season, here’s our boy enjoying the creek and living his best self.
